Foot-operated irrigation system for ureterorenoscopy
The Peditrol™ irrigation system provides optimal control of irrigation pressure and flow rate through a continuous, low-intensity background flow regulated by the height of the bag. This "drip-by-drip" irrigation is useful in the presence of unstable stones, which are often displaced by pressurized irrigation. When the visual field is obscured, the operator presses the foot pedal to inject a small volume (2.5 ml) into the irrigation circuit, sufficient to clear the work surface but too small to cause intrarenal hyperpressure.
